The Public and Community Services area of the NSU Alvin Sherman Library is a family-friendly environment offering a diverse range of activities and resources to engage visitors of all ages. From the tactile stimulation of puzzles and activity cubes to the entertaining coloring stations, the space is designed to encourage learning and creativity. The inclusion of AWE Early Literacy computers and a selection of kids’ magazines ensures that even the youngest visitors can find something to capture their interest. A variety of child-size and standard-size seating options creates an inviting reading area featuring rocking chairs and comfortable soft seating.
The library is a hub of knowledge and resources staffed by dedicated librarians and library assistants ready to support your information needs every day of the week. With access to computers and printers, including a designated Youth Computer Lab, the library ensures that digital literacy and research tools are within everyone's reach.
The library's shelves are filled with a treasure trove of books and the library's online databases provide free access to ebooks. Come chat with one of our librarians to help choose your next reading adventure or select a book from our Juvenile Readers’ Advisory list curated by your librarians.
Our School Resources and Teacher Resources pages provide an invaluable collection of learning materials for students and educators. School groups, homeschool groups, and community groups are welcome to visit the library to learn how to use our resources.
