Comprised of residents, local leaders, businesses, and NSU alumni, students. staff and faculty, Circle of Friends is open to anyone who wants to enhance the quality of services and programs available at the library.
When you join the Circle of Friends, there’s no limit to the good you can do to enrich the learning opportunities and lifestyle of this community. The Circle of Friends helps increase awareness of the NSU Alvin Sherman Library, supporting volunteer activities and programs, assisting in developing resources to benefit the library, serving as a liaison with the private sector and building strong relationships between the library, corporations, and foundations.

Making a Difference in the Community
When we see visitors enjoying the informative workshops, literature, library storytimes and other free offerings of the NSU Alvin Sherman Library, we know our efforts have come full circle. You, too, can be part of this special mission.
Highlights of Past Activities and Initiatives:
- Funded projects for the library including the NSU Glass Garden installation by the world-renowned artist, Dale Chihuly
- Built a Collaborative Study Room, which offers community members and students a venue to work on projects together
- Upgraded and purchased technology
- Expanded the library’s collections
- Hosted special art exhibits and cultural events
